 The Green Power Switch is a program which allows customers to buy 'blocks' of sustainable energy, such as wind and solar energy. This program, which is 3rd party certified, and administered by Nashville Electric Service and Tennessee Valley Authority, will gradually reduce the use of polluting sources, such as coal and nuclear energy. For $4/month, a customer can sign up to purchase a block of sustainable energy. A block represents about 12% of the energy used in a normal household. NES is encouraging customers to buy a minimum of two blocks.
