Since 1997, Newell has been sharing his experience and expertise with hundreds of buyers and sellers throughout Nashville’s most progressive urban neighborhoods. Over the years, Newell has worked with numerous builders and contractors- even renovating his own homes, and has developed a keen understanding of both the building and renovation processes. Newell’s calm demeanor and diplomatic approach to negotiating help him watch over his clients’ best interests while ensuring a pleasant real estate experience.

Newell is a Life Member of the GNAR's (Greater Nashville Association of Realtors) Awards of Excellence and was Village Real Estate's Top Producing agent in 2010. He has earned his ABR and e-Pro designations. He also serves on GNAR's Environmental Committee, The Strategic Planning Committee for the Linden Waldorf School and is actively involved in and supports ULI (the Urban Land Institute), Nashville Civic Design Center, the Magdalene House and the Nashville Greenways.

Originally from New York City, Newell grew up in New Jersey and moved to Nashville in 1987. A true Nashvillian, he’s also a musician, playing guitar and drums. Prior to real estate, Newell worked in the music industry as an engineer for a production company. Currently renovating a home in the 12South neighborhood with his wife and two sons, Newell has also lived in Lockeland Springs, Waverly-Belmont, Eastwood, Belmont and West Meade.
