About Mark Deutschmann

Mark Deutschmann founded Village Real Estate Services in 1996, intending to create a market in urban Nashville's inner loop neighborhoods, and to work to recreate the core neighborhoods downtown. Currently serving on The Civic Design Center board, Mark believes in The Plan of Nashville, and serves to further its 10 principles. Mark is a believer in neighborhood commercial districts, such as 12South, Hillsboro Village, Germantown, The Church Street residential corridor, and The Avenue of the Arts (5th Ave. N.). He believes that they define neighborhoods, and he dedicates energy to their success. Mark is also serving on other Boards, including GNAR's Environmental Committee, the Greenways for Nashville Board and the Greater Nashville Assocation of Realtors' Board of Directors.

Whether overseeing the sales of all loft and condo new development listings or creating a strategic marketing plan for a single-family resale home, Mark’s role is ever-present.

Mark believes that the unique community-minded energy at Village comes, in part, through the Village Fund, the non-profit arm of Village. It allows our agents, vendors, and customers the opportunity to engage our neighborhood social profits. The Village Fund is growing and has now contributed over $650,000 to the community. Mark donates a portion of each of his sales to the Village Fund and its worthy causes. In 2007, Mark gave all clients an annual membership to Greenways for Nashville (and due to his efforts was awarded the Greenways Volunteer of the Year Award in 2008). In 2008, Mark has given all CityLiving clients a year's membership to the Nashville Civic Design Center, a non-profit organization based in Downtown Nashville dedicated to elevating the quality of Nashville's built environment. Mark holds the following professional designations: Broker, CRS, GRI, e-Pro, & EcoBroker.

Mark and his wife, Sherry, live in Hillsboro Village. He is father to Chelsea Gifford, a student at the University of Colorado. He is an avid juggler and enjoys swimming, kayaking and traveling. He frequents British Columbia, particularly Hollyhock on Cortes Island, and partners with Joel Solomon in this and other endeavors in the northwest.
