East Nashville

East Nashville is the urban area east of the Cumberland River, accessible from Downtown by the Woodland Street Bridge, Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge, or Gateway Bridge. A sundry mix of entrepreneurs, empty nesters, longtime residents and B&Bs create the dynamic neighborhood feel. Here you’ll find a concentration of Victorian-style architecture as well as cute Bungalows, Queen Anne and Neo-Classical gems.

East Nashville has also experienced growth in condo and loft developments, with a plethora of options in all styles. The central commercial district in East Nashville is known as Five Points. A mix of eclectic restaurants, bars, local music venues, markets and boutiques bring out the locals, who you’ll see strolling the area any day of the week. East Nashville is also the home to Shelby Park and Shelby Bottoms Greenway. East Nashville is further broken down into smaller neighborhoods: Historic East End and Lockeland Springs.
