Go Green, District 18 Update

Thanks to Jamie Qualk over at TennesseeGreen.com for his blog about our Go Green, District 18 campaign.

We now have over 65 sign ups for the program and are well on our way to reaching our goal of 360 homes and 36 businesses. We are working to spread the word in many ways. NES has included information about the campaign in a couple of recent editions of PowerNotes (the insert that comes with your electricity bill). Belmont & Vanderbilt Universities are both on board with the campaign and working spread the word across their campuses. District 18’s councilwoman, Kristine LaLonde, is speaking at neighborhood meetings such as Hillsboro-West End and Belmont-Hillsboro.

We are even working to challenge other urban neighborhoods and their council members! Imagine what a difference could be made if more than just District 18 pushed to retrofit Nashville’s urban and historic homes. Watch out Jason Holleman (District 24) and Mike Jameson (District 6) – we are coming for you!
