Word on the Street, from Katherine McKenna

I have one of the more interesting seats in the downtown Village Real Estate office: up at the front. I listen as I work to the various orchestra of sounds that are downtown Nashville as much as the skyline includes the Batman building. I hear blurbs of conversations of those who walk by: talking on cell phones, to each other, to their dogs, to themselves. I used to hear the beep of the crosswalk but I’ve since blocked it out.

People-watching is prime from where I sit, being that we are right on the corner of Church Street & 3rd Avenue North. (If you are one of those I watch – no worries– you look fabulous!) Not only do I see the passersby but on occasion if I look up and the light at Church is red so I also see the drivers: sitting, waiting, watching the street, the driver in front, talking on the cell, cranking up the music, belting it out or biting their nails.

I am hidden to an extent now and peer out behind our brand spanking new WindowVision! You might think you can pull cash from its depths but take a closer look. We are now able to display our listings in our windows and you can use touch technology to input a listing to hear and see a presentation! You are transported through sight and sound from the corner of Church to the penthouse on 18th, or to your own private abode in Sylvan Park, or right across the street atop Printer’s Alley (much better people watching). What a way to take in the Music City! And all at your fingertips. Come Downtown and check it out! Nothing, and I mean nothing, like it in Nashville! Heads up…I’ll be watching.

Since you have a frontrow seat — What’s happening at King’s Market on 3rd & Church? I hear they’re renovating but i haven’t gotten down there yet to check it out.
